H. George Kagan has distinguished
himself and his firm from his
earliest days in practice. By 1980, he had become nationally
recognized
as a recipient of Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating for legal
ability
and ethical standards, and in 1983, became Chairman of the
Workers' Compensation Rules Committee of The Florida Bar and
the Chairman
of the Workers' Compensation Section of The Florida Bar. In
this position,
he authored innovative rules approved by the Supreme Court
which are
still in wide use today. In order to master his field of practice,
Mr. Kagan
became board certified in workers' compensation law in 1988,
but
Mr. Kagan’s accomplishments and attributes go well beyond
the realm
of workers' compensation. In 1996, the Chief Judge of the Circuit
Court
in Palm Beach County appointed him as President of the American
Inns of Court, an institution designed for the sole purpose
of improving
the skills, professionalism and ethics of the bench and bar.
As an equity partner with over 30 years of loyalty to
Miller, Kagan,
Rodriguez & Silver, Mr. Kagan is truly an asset to
the field of
workers' compensation.

Wright
v. Uniforms for Industry established in 2000, the
constitutionality of the employer’s right to
terminate all compensation and medical benefits upon
a finding of fraud.
Henson v. U.S. Sugar Corporation.
In 2002, this Supreme Court case
established on behalf of our combined clients: The American Crop
Protection Association; Chemical Manufactures Association; Florida Fruit and
Vegetable Association; Florida Fertilizer and Agrichemical Association; Florida
Citrus Mutual and Gulf Citrus Growers Association, the "Frye" test
as applicable to Florida workers' compensation (as a means of subjecting questionable
scientific evidence of causation and the like to a higher
standard of scrutiny). |
